IN//TO in(to)
into (preposition): expressing movement or action with the result that someone or something becomes enclosed or surrounded by something else.
An invitation into your own belonging: belonging to self, belonging in relationships, belonging to creativity. IN//TO (in)to is a durational performance, an interactive ritual, and a place to come and rest. We cannot dream up another world in isolation. We grow in connection. We must dream alongside each other. Let love crack us open.
This was presented as my thesis performance at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago on April 6th, 2024 as part of The IMPACT Festival.

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Transforming the entire gallery into a place of rest through fabric and paper installations, a comfortable environment to rest and recover, and an audio landscape to wash and recover one’s sense, Parker performed for four hours, hosting a seven of customized rituals for seven different people who self-selected to participate from the audience around our desires for connection, our desires for love, and our desires for love inside of community. These seven rituals were held within a container of beginning and end, but the middle portions were vast and wide and were co-created with Parker based on each person’s presence.
In the gallery, outside of the ritual holding space where Parker stayed, there were four interactive stations for people to respond, interactive, and engage with on their own time that mirrored some of the thoughts and actions Parker guided the seven individuals in.
